Although I have remained vigilant during this pandemic you can never be certain...

What is COVID

According the NHS website COVID-19 is “a new illness that can affect your lungs and airways. It’s caused by a virus called coronavirus.”

Symptoms: High Temperature, Chesty Cough and Loss of taste & smell.

COVID Testing

I took the test because someone in my household was exhibiting symptoms. We had to act immediately, we both signed up using via nhs.uk/covid it was a quick process. I am not sure how I feel about certain questions like your background e.i if you are Black Caribbean or Asian not sure that matters for that purpose. That’s just my personal opinion.

We went to the COVID station where we were instructed to following the guidelines for self testing which involved using a swab in your mouth and then your nose to be put in a bag for testing.

Putting on my Dementia Advocate cap I feel like this process can be very overwhelming for someone with Dementia. I would advise that there is an option on the NHS form to ask if you need support during your COVID testing appointment.
